2) What is the purpose and feel of the club?
It is a family ski club that serves as a home base for skiing, hiking, biking, and enjoying New Hampshire’s recreational areas. It emphasizes a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere with an extended community feel.

3) What is the history of the club’s building?
The Penguin Ski Club building is the former Lincoln High School. It was purchased by member families in 1968 and converted into a 120-bed facility with dormitories, kitchens, dining/living areas, TV rooms, sauna, and ski/boot room. The gym remains for sports and recreation.

4) How is the club organized and run?

The club is managed by member families. Each family participates in at least one October work weekend, hosts one weekend during the ski season, and serves as an officer, director, or committee member. A few outside contractors are used, including a chef and shuttle services with Loon Mountain for weekend connections.

5) How does membership work?
Families interested in membership visit the club three times as guests (one visit may be an October work weekend, others during the ski season).
After applying, new families become Associate Members for two years (no ownership or voting rights; ski-season use permitted).
Full Permanent Membership is granted at the end of the second Associate year by a club vote.

6) What about meals and dining at the club?
The club has two full kitchens: one for member-prepared snacks and meals, and one used by hired staff to cook and serve in the main dining area. A typical weekend includes continental breakfasts and a dinner, designed to simplify planning and provide a “getaway” experience.

7) What is lodging like at the club?
